Short ’n Tweet (EE 1.6.8 Version – See the ee2 Branch for the 2.0 version)

Create a “Tweet This” link and optionally use bit.ly or is.gd to shorten the current URL.

Info

Originally Developed by Eric Barnes.
General EE Plugin Info: http://expressionengine.com/docs/development/plugins.html

{exp:shortn_tweet title=“{title}” url=“{url_title_path=weblog/item}” hashtags=“#foo #bar” short_url=“bit.ly”}
<li><a href=“{twt:twitter_url}{twt:title} {twt:hashtags} {twt:title_url} (via @masuga)”>Tweet this thang</a></li>
{/exp:shortn_tweet}

Remember that if you are using bit.ly as your URL shortener that you will need an account. You will then have to add your username and bit.ly API key to the plugin, in the do_shorten_url_bitly function:

  $login = 'YOURBITLYLOGIN'; // enter your bit.ly login here
  $apikey = 'R_01234567890abcdefghijklmnopqrstu'; // enter your key here
