Problem

  • A pair of columns associated with one multi-column foreign key is indistinguishable from a pair of columns associated with two single-column foreign keys.

Potential solutions

I've intentionally left this ticket somewhat open-ended so that we may discuss other potential solutions too, when/if the time comes to implement this feature.
