At the moment push-to-talk keybind works only within the app, which is not all that convenient as you cannot be focused on any other window if you wish to use said keybind. It would be really nice if the user could set keybind to whichever key they please and use it even while mattermost is collapsed

While I am unsure whether plugins can achieve such functionality, it would surely improve the user experience

Hi @xxfogs, indeed we are aware of this limitation. The good news is that this will be possible to do using our desktop client as soon as we implement global shortcuts for Calls (MM-50587) which is one of our upcoming goals.

@streamer45 that's amazing, when can it be expected to become a feature?

I don't have a specific date yet but likely in the next couple of months or so. /cc @cpoile

Any updates?

This work was slightly deprioritized as the resources behind this project are limited. A contribution would be great though, code is all open after all and we'd be happy to guide anyone willing to try.
