Rocket Riders - Bringing People Together 🚀

Introduction

Rocket Riders is a quirky game created by Team Synergy(Chris Williams, William Dyrland-Marquis, and Faizan Khan) designed to bring people together through the pursuit of decimating the alien horde which threatens us 👽 Rocket Riders allows up to 2 players 🎮 to team up and use their respective ships to attack the enemies, which fill up the screen quickly.

Installation

Rocket Riders requires no installation! Our game is hosted on our website and is easily playable on your desktop or laptop. To play our game immediately, Click here.

Usage

We created our project with the intent to maximize a pleasant user experience. This includes writing a control scheme which is easy to use and intuitive. For those who enjoy step by step instructions, please read on
  1. Click this link. When you arrive at the pictured page, hit the 'Enter key

  1. After hitting enter, you will be greeted by npc dialogue. This dialogue explains the control scheme for the game. Read the dialogue, which explains that the 'A' key is for moving left, the 'D' key is for moving right, 'W' is for moving up, and 'S' is for moving down. The spacebar is used to shoot enemies and the 'shift' key is used to fire the ship's special move. Enjoy!

To build our game, we primarily used Phaser 3, a JavaScript Library. To see a list of other games created in Phaser 3, click here. Our game was inspired by a few very well regarded shoot em up games. A couple which come to mind are Blazing Lazers and U.N. Squadron.
