A great website presenting interesting patient cases with medical images is Radiopaedia. It's a rapidly growing, open-edit radiology resource, compiled by radiologists and other health professionals from across the globe. Radiopaedia’s states that it's mission is to create the best radiology reference the world has ever seen and to make it available for free, for ever, for all.

Radiopaedia provides articles, cases, courses and quizzes about radiology. You will find there competitions ("creation of the case of the day"), search tools, filters and other useful features to benefit from case-based learning. A section about artificial intelligence was added in october 2019.

There are other websites providing interesting resources with clinical cases. Some of them are listed in the bibliography.

A RadioLogic clinical case is composed of the following elements:

  • a sample of hand-selected medical images related to the pathology of a human or animal patient. It can be a single image, a series of images, a study with multiple series or several studies from different DICOM modalities.
  • clinical information about the patient. These data are provided with free text and graphics in a grayscale or color picture, named Observation.
  • a multiple choice questionnaire with a list of possible diagnoses.
  • the correct diagnosis. This information consists in the correct answer in the multiple choice questionnaire.
  • medical information about the correct diagnosis. These data are also provided with free text and images in a picture, named Answer.

The next chapter provides more information about the Observation picture.
