Hey @mcollina where are you at right now? I have a project Sails.js which maintains adapters for different storage adapters for main app databases, but I really want to be able to use those same adapters to plug into Socket.io. I'd love to sync up on our adapter convention some time.

That will be awesome.
I'm waiting that the socket.io team release 1.0, which this library targets.
At this moment socket.io 1.0 is not production-ready.

If you need pub/sub notifications you might want to check https://github.com/mcollina/ascoltatori, which provides a common API for all possible pub/sub brokers (and MongoDB support is on the way).

I'll let you know when this library will be usable.
