Hi,

I was told by one of Mega's support representatives that syncing between PC and mobile is not possible.

Well, I have a Linux laptop on which Megasync app is installed. I also have installed the Mega's mobile app on my Android smartphone.

I would like to replace the current Dropbox by Mega, but since one of the Mega's technicians said that is not possible, I am now confused, also because I read in several places many people saying that they do just that (use a synced folder both on computer and mobile device).

So, what is the true here, please?

Seeing as Syncthing does something similar, although through peer-to-peer or via a relay, it should be. Don't quote me on that, though, but I don't see any reason why not.

Hello. MEGA mobile apps can't support sync of your entire file system other than Camera photos, videos and related subfolders such as "Twitter", "Screenshots", "Instagram", "WhatsApp" etc.

Any files that you sync from your PC will be synced to your MEGA account. This will then be visible on your Android device. You can upload files manually from your Android device and they will be uploaded to your MEGA account which will then sync to your PC.

We hope this helps ^SJ

Doesn't explain why. Anyone could figure out those.

Its not from Mega, but there is a 'MegaSync' app in the store which i use for syncing things outside of the normal Mega app.

I have been using the MegaSync App from GooglePlayStore since more than 2 years now and it works really fine. It only consumed a lot of battery power, this is why I set to "manual start" only:
