How to download preexisting packs from the Resource pack's hub

⚠️ Fiddling around with the .runelite/resource-packs-repository folder tends to break the plugin. A quarter of the time when people get the "Loading..." error is because they tried editing packs within the resource-packs-repository folder and when the plugin/client reloads, it gets overwritten , or worse yet corrupts the folder. Hence we recommend downloading packs directly off of GitHub to work with.

  1. Click the little (?) button on the Resource packs hub. It will directly bring you to the pack's GitHub page.

  2. Click the green "Code" button and download the pack as a ZIP file.

  3. Extract the ZIP file's contents to be able to edit/use the pack you downloaded.

⚠️ Most of these pack downloads are outdated and/or lack features that packs on the Resource pack hub have. It is recommended to use packs that are updated to at least v1.4.4. The best way to download packs is by going to the pack's GitHub page (outlined above). Packs that wouldn't qualify for the hub are posted in #shared-packs in the discord. Examples being sprites to change just spell books, sprites to just change the minimap, inventory background, button colors, ironman xp orb sprites etc.
