Find and extract microcode binary revision 1f

We expect needing to extract the newest microcode binary from a vendor's BIOS package.

• Lenovo releases a BIOS package with rev. 1f on March 23rd; probably at the X230 support page
• Intel says it's production ready, see microcode-update-guidance-06-03-2018.pdf
• How would you extract Lenovo's BIOS exe file under Linux?

There is an update available from March 12th now. Version 1.71. How can we extract an UEFI image out of it?

I can open $01D3000.FL1 and $01D3000.FL2 in https://github.com/LongSoft/UEFITool but in contrast to, for example this: https://blog.fpmurphy.com/2016/11/examining-intel-microcode-in-lenovo-firmware-updates.html I cannot find a microcode section just now...

It's the *.PAT files directly. And they already seem to be included over there too: https://github.com/platomav/CPUMicrocodes so as time permits I'll play around and test.
