Proposal for improving the presentation of "who likes this dist" #1184
Comments
Like it - no pun intended :) I can't remember if there is a mobile UI reason for having the ++ on the left - that would need to be checked |
Works for me. The "show all" could even bounce over to another page which shows more author details and with pagination etc. Could also be laid out like the contributors page. Eventually the big lists are going to become even bigger, so it may just not be practical for Moose, Perl, etc to be shown on a Pod page. |
Just one voice here, but the likers list drives me crazy. I generally want to see as much distro info on one page as possible. The suggested compromise is a good one IMO. [One question-- what likers get to be displayed first? Could be a random selection each refresh...] |
That's now live - I prefer @neilbowers design but this will do until someone can submit a pull request |
@neilbowers' suggestion included a "show all" link. The current implementation is great if you want to see which dists ABRAXXA and ADAMJS like, but less good if you're interested in ZOFFIX's preferences. |
Yes - hence the 'I prefer @neilbowers design' comment :) Please send a pull request and we'll put it live |
Firstly, I like seeing who the likers are.
When a dist has a lot of likes, the top of the page becomes a bit messy, and visually it makes the list of mugshots the thing that draws your attention.
Here's a proposal for making the information less distracting, but still easily accessible:
The basic idea is:
Cheers,
