GitHub release tags do not contain the commits involved since the last release #12845

In GitHub releases you can auto generate a commit history that lists all involved commits, involved from the last release to the current.

This makes it really hard to get an overview of the changes between patch releases. Isn't it possible to generate these when publishing the release tags?

Okay nevermind, I was too blind to see the "compare" dropdown 🙈
