Dear mrQ community,

We are pleased to announce that version 2 of the mrQ software package is now ready for public use. Version 2 (v.2) was developed in collaboration by the Mezer lab of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, and VISTA lab of Stanford University, USA.

There are many updates, changes and modifications to v.2, but some of the important ones are highlighted below:

  • More robust results, thanks to new and better fitting algorithms.
  • Faster runtime: mrQ can now run on a single CPU in around four hours.
  • Removal of parallel computing dependency. Though it will decrease the run time, the use of parallel computing such as SunGrid is no longer required.
  • A cleaner and more streamlined code, whose modular structure makes it easier to run and whose extensive commenting makes it easier to read.
For a more extensive list of changes in v.2, please see the README file in the github repository.

Best of luck using mrQ v.2 in all your scientific endeavors!

Sincerely,
mrQ v.2 development team
