Build Status

Naether is a Java Dependency Resolver using Maven's Aether that can be used by Ruby or Java.

RDoc | JavaDoc | Wiki

JRuby is natively supported. Vanilla Ruby uses Rjb to proxy over JNI.

gem install naether

The jar dependencies for Naether will automatically be downloaded when the gem installs.

Custom Maven Repo

You can override the default Maven Repo used in bootstraping Naether by setting the NAETHER_MIRROR environment variable.

NAETHER_MIRROR=http://my.local.repo/m2 gem install naether

The NAETHER_MIRROR environment is also appended to the remote repositories used when resolving dependences.

May have to add the Sonatype Repo if the sync to Maven Central is slow.

    <name>Sonatype Repository</name>

All of the Naether dependencies are loaded via a Custom ClassLoader.

Naether jar dependences must be loaded for Naether to work. This is easily done with the bootstrap helper

Resolving Dependencies

require 'rubygems'
require 'naether'

naether = Naether.create
naether.dependencies = [ "ch.qos.logback:logback-classic:jar:0.9.29", "junit:junit:jar:4.8.2" ]

puts naether.dependencies_notation

Will output

 "org.slf4j:slf4j-api:jar:1.6.1" ]

naether.addDependency( "junit:junit:jar:4.8.2" );
System.out.println( naether.getDependenciesNotation().toString() );

Will output:
