The following was achieved.

  • Debian package built in developer version of Debian 11 using debuild + GNU Autotools.
  • Debian package works in user versions of Debian 11 and Ubuntu 22.10.
  • RPM package built in developer version Fedora 37 + GNU Autotools.
  • RPM package works in a user version of Fedora 37.

The associated installation files should work with at least Fedora 37, Debian 11, and Ubuntu 22.10 as of 1/30/2023.

A simple RSS reader that takes a URL and lists the published headlines. This allows you to interact with those headlines in a straightforward manner. The software is native code to provide excellent efficiency and is written to keep the size of the program small.

This release has been tested for Fedora 37 Workstation.

Version 7 can be found here: https://github.com/michaelgautier/gautier_rss_reader7/releases/tag/v7.7.1

No major code alterations were done converting from v7 into v8. The major changes include:

  • Goal #1 was to streamline and simplify RPM file creation.
  • Goal #2 was to switching over to GNU Autotools as the build system. This accomplished goal #1.
  • Slight adjustments to the program so it compiles correctly under Fedora 37 Workstation.
