There's another issue on the tracker that's pretty much the same thing.
Description of the new feature / enhancement
I'd like to be able to define the location of named windows and have then 'snap' to those locations based on the number of available monitors changing.
In my specific example ... if I use RDP to connect to a Windows dev machine from my laptop with an external monitor I have RDP use both screens and have a preference for where Visual Studio and MS SQL Server Manager get positioned (on the external monitor), but the browser, email, teams etc stay on monitor #1 (the laptop screen).
If I connect to the machine without my external monitor being available (or from my iPad) then windows get collected on the single available screen, so when I go back to the multi-mon connection I have to rearrange things.
This could also work for simple dock/undock scenarios making an external monitor available.
Essentially it would be setting snap locations for specific windows that react to SystemEvents_DisplaySettingsChanged events to make the change happen
Scenario when this would be used?
would be used docking/undocking a laptop or connecting to a remote windows (so needs to support <Win11) with differing number of monitors available
