FancyZones

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install PotPlayer (currently on 240315, issue began before latest update)
  2. Try using it with FancyZones (currently on 0.79.0, issue began before latest update)

✔️ Expected Behavior

When dragged into another zone, PotPlayer should activate FancyZones, showing the number of the zone it is being dragged to, and resize itself to fit in the zone.

❌ Actual Behavior

It is freely movable and resizable within the entire desktop space, as if it is on the exclude list, but it is not.

Going by those other threads I've changed the PotPlayer skin and the one that makes it work is called WindowFrame. but I don't like that one so I'm going to keep looking for a solution. Weird that this hasn't been a problem with the default skin since I started using PP and PT.

This is an old thread but seeing as I had issues with fancy zones and potplayer myself I thought I'd post my solution here.

Apparently as of Version: 240509(1.72232) of Potplyer, running multiple instances of potplayer means it doesn't work with fancy zones and does not snap to zones correctly.

  • The solution is therefore to use only one instance of potplayer, and snapping to fancy zones works. You might need to close all instances of potplayer and then start only a single one for this to work though. Hopefully this helps someone.
