Argument of type "list[str]" cannot be assigned to parameter "label" (pyplot.hist, etc)

Pylance flags label=["string", "string"] as incorrect
plt.hist([np_v, (np_v - np_dv)], bins=N_BINS, label=["np_v", "np_v - np_dv"])
Same for plt.xticks()

The code runs perfectly. Is it my fault, or how can I resolve it.

Just to add.
matplotlib.pyplot.hist API reference states: "String, or sequence of strings to match multiple datasets ...".
List is a mutable sequence.

Installed a new venv with Python 3.11.7 and the Pylance problem report is gone. Previously 3.8.18. Python › Analysis: Type Checking Mode: 'basic'
