Create Issue


With a GitHub remote

  1. Install the pre-release build of GitHub Pull Requests and Issues
  2. Open a folder containing a GitHub repository in VS Code
  3. Checkout a topic branch
  4. Make a change and get ready to commit
  5. From the SCM view, enter a commit message then use the arrow next to the "Commit" button to choose the "Commit & Create Pull Request" option.
  6. Verify that your commit occurs as expected. Verify that after the commit succeeds the "Create Pull Request" view is opened.

Without a GitHub remote

  1. Install the pre-release build of GitHub Pull Requests and Issues
  2. Open a folder that doesn't contain any repositories with GitHub remotes, but that does contain a git repo.
  3. Make a change and get ready to commit
  4. From the SCM view, enter a commit message then use the arrow next to the "Commit" button. Verify that there is no option to "Commit & Create Pull Request"
