  1. Open a workspace with a venv in it
  2. close all editors and reload vscode
  3. delete the .venv
  4. Create a new notebook
  5. Use the kernel picker to create a new venv
    🐛 lots of duplicate interpreter entries

Please provide the debug logs which can help diagnose the issue:

  • Run Developer: Set log level command
  • Select Trace
  • Run Developer: Reload Window command
  • Provide the output:
Output for Python in the Output panel (View→Output, change the drop-down the upper-right of the Output panel to Python)

I'm unable to reproduce this. Does Python: Clear cache and reload window command work? There was a bug regarding duplicated environments which was recently fixed (try latest pre-release), I wonder if it is just residual cache based on that.

If it does not fix it, please provide the screenshot of Python: Select Interpreter quickpick also, and the logs again.
