Generator Sample: Custom Tool not registering

I just cloned the generator sample, followed the steps in the README but in the launched VS instance I always get the warning that the Custom Tool is "not on the system". Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Glad I'm not the only one having this problem. Been trying for days and I just can't get it to work. I'm wondering if it's something to do with compiling for AnyCPU, rather than 32-bit or something like that?

I'm also having this problem. It's happening with the sample as well as a SFG I wrote myself. I can't get the experimental instance to see it at all. Did either of you figure it out?
