Add some way to filter by label or - if that is not possible - make searching messages by labels possible.

I think this is the former is the most basic feature for a labeling / taggin system. And also the one universally anybody who was only barelay in touch with GoogleMail or the likes expects. It is the single most desired "feature request" for any Mail-Application I encounter while doing IT-Support.

So, this plugin would benefit tremendously from such a feature. I would offer to sponsor a few billed hours of work on that, if it helps to speed up the process.

Given that proper imap label support is broken in roundcube I am not very motivated to work on this. However I will accept merge requests adding functionality to my plugin. One approach you can take is patch roundcube to provide the real label-names via an extra property for example: $rc->real_label_names akin' to mysql_real_escape_string, haha, keeping the old mangled label names intact in parallel, for backwards compatibility. Then we extend my plugin to work with this new API if you will. Yes this means people need to hack their roundcube with your patch to make this plugin work, but that's the only way to make a useful implementation. I'll gladly help with integration into my code, but for roundcube it feels like investing time for a lost cause, hence less motivated.
p.s. that mailur project mentioned in roundcube/roundcubemail#4986 looks interesting, if you are a dovecot user you might want to go for this
