This port is not tested by me, because I don't have any m1 or m2 hardware
Some Minecraft arm64 versions will just crash and won't load at all

Due to the state of this port you need to opt in via Developer options.

• Go to settings
• Switch to tab "Dev"
• Check unsupported versions (Disable this setting if you leave the experiment)
• Close settings
• Press edit profil (pencil)
• change the version from the dropdown
• select 1.19.70.02 (arm64-v8a)
• press download and play

Minecraft 1.19.73.02 (arm64-v8a) works like a charm on my MacBook Pro M1 Pro. Tried playing in an heavy world and the game was running at 120fps, sometimes dipping in the 90fps range. The MacBook didn't get hot and the fans never kicked in while playing for 3 hours straight. The resolution I played it was 3024x1890 (probably switching to 1920x1200 with SwitchResX will make the fps remain at a solid 120fps).

Had the opportunity to test 1.19.73.02 yesterday, but my realm updated today with 1.19.80 so I will be using that, it says Latest (Google Play) tho, so I assume I'm back to x86_64, each version needs to be manually ported to arm64?

As mentioned above, this works perfectly, performance is (obviously) better than via Rosetta 2 (with occasional random crashes though, which were also present in x86_64 version), with one caveat though - looks like mcpelauncher-webview is x86_64-only, since trying to log into Microsoft account in arm64-v8a version causes an error - related screenshots below.

A followup guide for 1.20.0.x, to make it visible from the version dropdown once added

• Show incompatible versions is needed to be able to access arm64-v8 builds in the intel Application UI.
• Replace the text of the textbox with https://raw.githubusercontent.com/minecraft-linux/mcpelauncher-versiondb/master, this pulls newer versions to the dropdown

Then install the mod to be able to run 1.20.x: minecraft-linux/mcpelauncher-client#66 (comment) (1.20 support will be included in launcher update 0.10.0, using this mod you don't need any launcher update)

Even when running the launcher under Rosetta, mcpelauncher-webview does not work. I'm unable to run the x86_64 version at all for some reason but the arm64 version does work, just without a Microsoft Account.

The only difference between intel and m1 builds would be the version of angle. The m1 builds uses a far more recent version of it.

For those with webview not working, you can install an x86-64 version of minecraft, launch, log in normally, delete the x86-64 version if you want as probably you won't use it anymore, install an arm64 version and the login of your account should persist in that version and can play normally, recently switched my mac and that did the job for me.

I just got the bedrock launcher, changed the settings so it works with M1, and the game runs very nicely. However, when I tried inviting people to my world (not realm), the game crashed on me and gave me an error. I also attempted joining another friend's world, it gave me the same error. I understand I am not meant to report any errors, but I just wanted to ask if multiplayer is not able to work on this Bedrock Launcher. And if it is, does it not work on M1/M2 only? • Copy your world to the server

Have upgraded my OS to Sonoma 14.0 on a M1 Macbook Air. Previously ran fine under catalina in x86 rosetta. Trying both x86 and suggested ARM builds above do not launch the game. Launcher works, but clicking play It just sits at the taskbar frozen (never launches). Thanks guys!

The x86_64 build won''t work in rosetta 14 thank apple for breaking stuff. The x86_64 build works only on intel macs with macOS 14..

The most likely reason is that you never successfully selected an arm64-v8a versions.

Previously ran fine under catalina in x86 rosetta.

Ahm, no m1 mac had ever run on catalina 10.15 and rosetta2 doesn't exists before macOS 11.

was having trouble with "ask google again" for the apk. I had already purchased the game for my android phone on my google play account so I was confused. I changed the thing to arm64-v8a and had the same problem until I purchased the game for this mysterious "DIY" device that I supposedly had, which I concluded was just the launcher.
Whatever the problem was, the game is now being recognized and runs perfectly on my Mac mini m2 pro! So thank you very much

You can build it from source, without the need for rosetta 2. Without hardware it is not trivial to build it in a ci, yes I don't have any m1/m2 hardware.

mcpelauncher-client-arm64-v8a and it's dependencies are the only arm64 parts of the package I provide for free at this time.

Support for the Rosetta 2 game launcher has ended now with release v0.12.2, the launcher will flag all intel version as unsupported unless overriden by dev settings.

You still need Rosetta 2 for the Launcher User Interface.

It's broken on macOS, since spring 2023... Not shure why, linux has been repaired back then.

I think that realm are working, but I never used them use them with caution.
Based on my information you can join regular servers like the self hostable https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download/server/bedrock option, e.g. add the server ip and port to external server tab

Due to beeing on macOS you might need to use Docker Desktop with the intel x86_64 platform. The rossetta2 feature of Docker Desktop should allow reasonable performance.

I don't think anyone other than me would ever fix that, it's a platform specfic bug of this launcher. There are enough workarounds to get the same behavior e.g. connect to a self-hosted server.

You can copy your friends/own world to it and also earn achivements if you keep cheats disabled

I am having difficulties with Realm invites, on Linux Minecraft Bedrock Launcher. I click on the "Accept" and it shows acknowledgment of my clicking but there is no result. I have tried "Reject", however it removes the invite and if i close the game and reopen the invite reappears. DO you have any information or suggestions on this problem? Thank you in advance.

After changing BE angle to Metal & Single arch dev setting (no idea what it does) the CPU consumption fell to 100% ~ 120%, still ridiculously high

@wormeyman What do you mean by "intel version" This thread is about using the pure arm binaries build and I thought that using this would be infinitely superior to intel + rosetta or JVM.

What does the activity monitor show as CPU usage?
Do you have any app that observes the temperature on your mac? I use TGPro.

All intel versions are considered not compatible by the launcher as the intent here is to use just arm builds.

I might try that out to see how it compares to JVM.

300% cpu load is usually caused by OpenGL ES Emulation, without hardware I have no idea if it is possible to create an arm64 mac catalyst app using native (or again emulated by apple instead of google) deprecated drivers

As a non apple user, I have much less cpu usage on linux. You can be happy that Bedrock even starts at all, using asahi linux can probably even give you deferred rendering.

Seems like you have been bitten by modifing your profile manually, but you should be able to upgrade the game

Try changeging your launcher profile to use 1.20.80+

• Press the pencil next to peace
• Press the dropdown/combobox with the 1.20.62.02 text labeled version
• Select 1.20.80 / Google Play latest
• Press save
• Download the newer Minecraft Version

I had to download it in my default profile, remove incompatible versions and reopen in my peace profile, but it worked!
