This document will assist you in configuring Catch and your BitTorrent client, so that your favorite TV Shows will be downloaded automatically. It's really easy!

You do not need to do everything described here, just look for help if you don't know how to do something.

Getting a ShowRSS Feed

  • Visit ShowRSS and sign up: it's quick, easy, and free. Use your account to select the shows you want Catch to download automatically.
  • Log in to your ShowRSS account and go to My Feed. Leave the settings as they are and copy the link found next to Your custom feed address: at the bottom of the page.

Setting up Catch

  • Open Catch, and it will present you the Preferences window (or click the menubar icon and select Preferences...).
  • Click the + button
  • Input a feed name, like "ShowRSS"
  • Paste the link you copied earlier in the second text box, and click Add Feed.

You only have to go through this procedure once. Now Catch will begin to automatically check for new torrents and have your BitTorrent client download them. Pat yourself in the back :)

You can optionally have Catch open automatically at login.

Configuring Your BitTorrent Client

Transmission

  • Open Transmission and bring up your Preferences (open the Transmission menu and select Preferences..., or just type Command+,).
  • Select Transfers, then the Adding tab.
  • Check Start transfers when added.
  • Uncheck Display a window when opening a torrent file. Or, leave it checked and also check Only when adding manually if you normally want to see the window.
  • Make sure you have a Default location set (do not use Same as torrent file), otherwise Transmission will always prompt for a download location when a magnet link is opened.

Transmission will now automatically download all your TV Shows as soon as Catch gets them!

µTorrent

  • Open µTorrent and bring up your Preferences (open the µTorrent menu and select Preferences..., or just type Command+,).
  • Select the Downloads tab.
  • Check Start transfer after opening each torrent file.
