I have freshly installed the QuNeo installer 1.2.2. and when I try to set it up with mixxx it seems to light up and match the program but I cannot control the software with the QuNeo, it's as if none of the buttons work. If I move the crossfader on the screenwith my mouse, the QuNeo responds to what's going on, but I cannot control the software through the QuNeo. My QuNeo works fine with other software (Ableton Live 9, Battery 3, etc). I spend all day trying to program a script for mixxx 1.10, finally gave up and downloaded 1.11 beta 2 but it still doesn't work.

Best regards

Alex

Hi Alex,

Have you loaded the QuNeo preset in the Mixxx preferences?

Try this version of Mixxx 1.11.0. It is a pre-release of Mixxx 1.11.0
final. Mixxx 1.11.0 beta2 is quite outdated now.

Hey RJ!

First off let me thank you for your quick response.

Yes, I should have specified that I set the device up in the preferences. I
initially had version 1.9 from the appstore, then downloaded version 1.10
from the website, then went for the 1.11 beta2.

Here is the link <https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+bug/1055740> to the
first part of my search. I then upgraded to 1.10 and created an .xml and a
.js from that info but it did not help. There was no midi mapping for the
QuNeo initially and those files simply created a blank midi map. I then
went for the 1.11 beta2 and encountered the problem I mentioned.

I have just installed your newer version and the problem remains the same.
I have the right preset set up on QuNeo (#12) and I selected the proper
setting in Mixxx's preferences. It lights up, but I cannot control Mixxx
from the Quneo. Whenever I control something in Mixxx through a mouse (for
example: the crossfader) the leds in the QuNeo move accordingly. I then
though the device itself might have a problem but it works fine with other
software (Live, Battery, Logic, etc)

I am a 30 year old professional musician in Montreal who is slowly but
surely getting his geek on. I started producing with Ableton about 18 monts
ago and am gradually getting much more interested in electronic music and
understanding how computers/programming works. I definitely not a master
hacker yet but am having a blast learning a lot along the way as I
troubleshoot my way through all this stuff. I am a huge fan of Open source
software (Open Office, Gimp) and would eventually love to help you guys
program when I get my chops up! I'll keep on playing around and see if
anything works!

Best regards

Alex

Probably you have two QuoNeo presets in /Applications/Mixxx.app/Contents/Resources/controllers. 1st the old one installed by the QuoNeo installer (KMI QuNeo.midi.xml & KMI-QuNeo-scripts.js) and 2nd. the better one shipped with the latest version of Mixxx linked in response #2 (KANE_QuNeo.midi.xml & KMI-QuNeo-scripts.js).

If you select the "Keith McMillen Instruments QuNeo" preset in Mixxx > Preferences > Controllers dropdown menu, then you have selected preset #2. The first one wont even appear in the list in Mixxx 1.11 ( a blank line is shown instead) because of some missing syntax in the files.

The button assignments for the preset #2 can be found at https://github.com/wolfbiter/kane-quneo-mixxx and are naturally different (read better, more advanced) from the ones found in your QuNeo FActory Preset Guide.

Hope this helps
Alternatively, attach the mixxx.log file found in /Library/Application\ Support/Mixxx/ which gives us info whats going on.

Arghh, can' t edit posts.

Should read "...and 2nd. the better one shipped with the latest version of Mixxx linked i #2 (KANE_QuNeo.midi.xml & KANE_QuNeo_scripts.js)."

Thanks! I was busy for a few days but finally had time to set everything
up. Kane presets are awesome and work flawlessly. You guys offer amazing
support. I wish a bright future to you and your crew!
