from uklotzde's work on Vestax VCI-300, he implemented a function that jumps to whatever point the playhead was at when playback last started. This could be a cuepoint, but it also could be an arbitrary position. Simply caching the playposition at the start point and then seeking there would be a great starter project.

Can you break the patch into two pieces, one with the indicator stuff and one with just the basic cue behavior changes? A lot of the patch is non-controversial and could be merged in.
