Nevermind! I misread the bug as "Ubuntu Software Center" and that one is an entirely different beast.

Tuukka -- do you know what more needs to be done now that the appdata file is included in our .deb?

Just pack it (whats int /usr/share/appdata/*.xml) :D. Gnome should read it from there without problem.
