For new Booth output, add auto-mute #8952
Comments
Commented by: Be-ing This is already possible with the microphone ducking feature. It would make sense to add a new option to apply microphone ducking to the booth output only if there is a use case for applying ducking to the booth output but not the master output (which is also used for broadcasting). When would that be the case? |
Commented by: Be-ing I may have misunderstood the request. Do you mean that you would want the booth output to mute all output including the microphones? In that case, would it work to use the existing option to not route the microphones to the booth output? |
Commented by: inannamoon I mean "full mute" as opposed to "reduced level". If a separate booth ducking option would provide this, that would be fine. Even if I'm using the existing option to not route mic to booth, still want to mute the booth monitors to avoid echo from the music. (The main/broadcast output should not mute, only reduce level.) |
Commented by: daschuer Nice idea. How should the GUI look like for this feature? |
Commented by: inannamoon Thanks. A preference option would work. Suggest adjustable from 100% muted to 0% |

I have tried a recent alpha of 2.1 and seen the new Booth output. To my thinking, this is like the Studio Monitor outputs on a studio mixing board. A feature of those boards is that when a mic is switched live, the studio monitor automatically mutes. This functionality would increase the usefulness of the Booth output.
