I just found out that the translated effect names are to long. I tried just German, maybe this appear also to other languages.

Maybe the easiest Solution might be to NOT translate them at all, I mean why they have to be translated, "Cue", "Loop", "Head Gain" and so on is also not translated and I think most People know the English word for this effects.

=> Might be easier if Skin only has to fit for English words..

Effects and effect parameters now have short names separate from their full names. Both can be translated. If you'd like to contribute to translation, details are on the wiki: https://mixxx.org/wiki/doku.php/internationalization

Skins show the short names but the full names and descriptions are shown in tooltips.

Different issues are mixed up here:

1* The strings in the Shade Skin are hard coded (font merged to the background graphic). There was no translation possible back when the skin was created. Looking from today, this is oneof the Shade skin´s drawbacks.

We decided to use i18n wherever possible. There is always the possibility to change language, or fall back to the source language en_US.

2* The short parameter named mentioned by @be are not available for some eq parameters, must have slipped through.

This are the strings you tagged as issues on Transifex.

A related issue is that we have no length limit for the rendered text in Transiflex.
My idea to use a reference rendered text like "Lorem ipsum" to compare with the rendered translation is a stucked discussion. Should we introduce this?
