This probably needs some discussion and I would imagine is fairly involved so wouldn't expect it for a version or two but I hope this makes sense to you:

Often I don't know if I have changed a variable correctly, if I am using the right command, the exact syntax or maybe I just want to query what properties an object has so I can call them without having to search through the included .js files and the wiki pages. It would be very helpful is some or all of this could be done within the program itself.

Could we get a Scripting Development window added to Developer mode? I can only reference the software Renoise with this, where you get a little terminal where you can run LUA (its API is based on LUA) commands and check you have the correct syntax within the program to control the element you want. You can also have installed and running scripts output to this window to check values of variables etc on running scripts.

This would be nice, but I think it would be a lot of work to implement.

Yeah this is definitely a "hopefully sometime in the future" kind of request, although I would find it very useful I wasn't expecting to see it in the next version....

I do hope somebody with the skills to implement it can at least give it some thought once 2.1 final comes out though :-)
