Commented by: marcos-banderas I have a friend getting the same message and checked her computer. She does have microsoft visual c++ redistributable installed. not sure why she is getting this message |
Commented by: amaisonneuve what the status of this defect? can we repackage? currently i'm unable to install the latest package or the previous stable |
Commented by: Be-ing A user on the forum reported that uninstalling the MSVC2017 runtime is a workaround. Mixxx 2.2 is built with MSVC2015, so it seems that having newer versions of the runtime installed are somehow messing with the installer. |

Commented by: inannamoon I am confirming that this error occurs in 2.2.2, too. |
Commented by: chimpress Same error with 2.2.3 |
Commented by: uklotzde The installer needs to take newer versions of the runtime into account and must either not try to install the MSCV 2015 redistributables or handle the corresponding error correctly: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/porting/binary-compat-2015-2017?view=vs-2019 |

Tags: installer, usability
A user on facebook reports that the "latest installer" (not sure but I think they mean 2.2.0) is giving an error message that it can't find the VC++ 2015 redistributable.
EDIT (ronso0)
A possible fix is described in lp:1862795 (windows 10)
"for akk who have drouble with visual c++
try to repair the c++ instalation!
open "apps&future" scroll down to
microsoft visual c++ 2015-2019
mark it click "change" run repair, that's it!
if you find 2 of thos pakage dont wonder, one is for x86 and the other one for x64 just repair boh and it will run!"
