Would it be possible for you to add a LICENSE.txt to this repo? I know it's based largely upon isaacs' work, so you probably have to ask him. MIT-license preferred, but isaacs may prefer that you use the Artistic 2.0, since that is what npm uses.

Sure, as you said, tabtab is just based on Isaac's work so I wonder if I can just use what npm uses.

I'd bump this issue. My understanding is that If the code stays as is, no one can use it legally.
