Expected files for export-checkpoints.py

I'd like to understand better how export-checkpoints.py work in order to use it on ml5js (and possibily to document the behavior).

Which kind of files are expected for --checkpoint argument? Is it possible to use a single .pth file (the output from junyanz's Pytorch implementation), or it expects a folder with multiple files (like the output from the Tensorflow Pix2Pix example)?
