Perhaps I don't understand what you mean by 'it', but it doesn't seem to work. Could you please rephrase your answer? |
Added some words here: https://mmark.miek.nl/post/syntax/#cross-references

Thanks, that is indeed clearer. However, now I also know where the confusion came from: I thought you meant a way to insert a table number, not give a table an ID. Is there a way to replace a 'hardcoded' table number with a reference like in LaTeX?

Please see table 6 for more information
Please see table {someway-to-reference-table-with-id-interesting-table} for more information
No, you can't. Although it should be fixed when the new grammar is finalized, although
no-one knows when that is.
See https://xml2rfc.tools.ietf.org/xml2rfc-doc.html#element-xref and
https://mmark.miek.nl/post/syntax/#citations
and what is currently possible.

Thanks |

We could do e.g. |
See #175 for ideas |
#180 implements this, allows for 'use number' or 'use title', see https://mmark.miek.nl/post/syntax/#cross-references |
