MMGenLive can now install itself on your hard drive, freeing you from having to run it from the USB stick. Users of the latest boot image (v0.0.7) can use the new functionality by running 'mmlive-upgrade' and then 'mmlive-node-setup -d' to begin the automated installation.

Running without the USB stick reduces energy consumption considerably. My Mini-PC node, connected and relaying transactions, now uses only 6.6W.

For more information on running a Bitcoin full node with MMGenLive, see the MMGenLive project page and my Mini-PC writeup on bitcointalk.

This release of MMGenLive introduces a new upgrade system. New features and bugfixes are now pushed to the repository in the form of revisions. To keep an online installation up to date with the latest revision, all that's required is to run the 'mmlive-upgrade' script from time to time. The upgrade process is automatic, requiring little or no user interaction.
