I have the same issue in Mockk 1.12.3 when static mocking I do have more detail. It only happens for me when:
I tried overriding "java.vm.name" but without affect (using the excellent System Lambda:
A simple check showed it is OK to override "java.vm.name":

And defining mock behavior did not work either:

It's also worth noting that Mockito flat out refuses to mock

Expected Behavior
Code that successfully passes with
io.mockk:mockk:1.11.0
should continue to pass when run withio.mockk:mockk:1.12.0
Current Behavior
