Lang spec Sec 9.3.1, Connector size and balancing restrictions #727
Comments
Comment by hansolsson on 17 Apr 2012 10:35 UTC The section defines the size of the connector and adds restriction on the sizes of its members, i.e. balancing/size restrictions. I agree that the current heading looks odd; but "Size and Balancing Restrictions on Connectors" seems problematic: the first problem is just parsing it: 'Size and (Balancing Restrictions)' or '(Size and Balancing) Restrictions'? If we use the term 'Balancing Restrictions' for stating that connectors have matching flow and non-flow (seems logical), I would say that the other part is just a definition of the 'Size' of the connector. Thus to me the name of this ticket has a better proposal, i.e. |

The current heading is misleading. It is not about size, more about balancing restrictions. Proposed:
9.3.1 Size and Balancing Restrictions on Connectors
The stream keyword should be added to the list below (absent in Lang spec 3.2.1): For each non-partial connector class the number of flow variables shall be equal to the number of variables that are neither parameter, constant, input, output, stream nor flow.
