Since none of us have time at the moment, we will do a minimal release.

  • Update release notes: missing remaining PRs, add new submodules updates.
  • Update submodules:
    • ETL
    • LVGL
    • SAM header files v3.0 of the SAMx7x devices are incompatible with v2.4.
    • STM32 header files
    • modm-devices
    • Pico SDK
    • TinyUSB breaks too many things. Will be updated separately.
    • CMSIS-DSP has been moved to a separate repository.
  • Merge remaining PRs: SAM support and STM32 timer.
  • Update CI and fix bugs: see [ci] Update container images and fix minor issues #918
  • Hardware testing?

@rleh something in the AVR container broke during the update? modm-devices may not have been installed?

The modm-build container work fine, but there is a git / GIthub Actions issue: actions/runner#2033

The git config --global --add safe.directory /__w/modm/modm command has to be run from inside the container, which now happens.
