It would be cool to have coverage for PHPDoc compatibility, perhaps leveraging local_moodlecheck.

I thought that too, but the tool is a little cumbersome to use. I added an issue, moodlehq/moodle-local_moodlecheck#28

I was hoping to fold the tool into Moodle's coding standard and then PHPDocs would be processed by moodle-plugin-ci codechecker command.
