Last.fm has just released an updated version of their scrobbling API, version 2.0. Mopidy should be upgraded to use the new API.

See http://www.last.fm/api/scrobbling for details.

Information from Last.fm:

Hello scrobbling developer,

We thought you might like to know that last week we launched the final
version of the Scrobbling 2.0 API. Yay!

Documentation is here:
http://last.fm/api/scrobbling/

The Submissions 1.2.1 protocol is now considered deprecated, but will
remain working for the foreseeable future.
All new clients should use the Scrobbling 2.0 API instead.

You can read all about the changes here:
http://www.last.fm/forum/21716/_/656504

If you are looking to migrate an existing 1.2.1 client that uses
password auth there are some auth migration tips here:
http://www.last.fm/forum/21716/_/656492

Thanks
~ The Scrobbling Team.

pylast as of the new 0.5 release makes use of the new Scrobbling API. Thus, this is just a minor change for us.
