Hi,

I have been trying to change the system language to Chinese. However, with restarting the program after saving it, the program only changes a few words or doesn't change language at all.

Thank you.

Hey @FengxiyaoXX, thanks for reaching out! The issue with Chinese translation is, that it hasn't been updated recently. By any chance, would you be interested in contributing the missing translations?

Thank you for your interest! ⭐
With the localization for Storylines, you have two options:

  1. You can use the Multilingual Editor from Microsoft, steps described here: https://github.com/morning4coffe-dev/storylines/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md#improving-an-existing-language-can-be-done-with-any-text-editor
  2. Or you can open individual .resw files (in VS Code, or any text editor) in this folder https://github.com/morning4coffe-dev/storylines/tree/main/src/Storylines/Resources/zh-CN, side-by-side with this one https://github.com/morning4coffe-dev/storylines/tree/main/src/Storylines/Resources/en and translate all the missing strings in zh-CN. Example here and validate the existing translations if they are correct.

Hi,

I checked the two options you sent. Honestly, I have never worked with anything related to coding. I do like to help if I can, but the layout really confuses me. I am afraid to make changes about things I don't understand.

Also, some phrases in English make sense but in direct Chinese translation, they don't. It's best for anyone who is translating to know exactly where the phrases are located or how they are being used on the app/system.

Sorry for not replying earlier. I understand it can be confusing, and the direct translation can be challenging (I had my issues with CZ localization as well 😅). I have been investigating the best solution for this and decided to use https://crowdin.com/ for localization in the future. It probably won't help much with where the phrases are used in the app, but at least it should be more accessible.

I hope to make some more updates to Storylines, so I will keep this issue open and let you know.
