Steps to reproduce

  • Download Fenix from the Google Play Store.
  • Start Fenix.
  • In "Data Choices", make sure "Telemetry" is on.
  • Close Fenix.
  • Start Fenix.

Expected behavior

Glean pings should be generated and sent.

Actual behavior

No Glean ping is generated and sent. By inspecting the output of adb log, I can see glean/Glean: Metrics enabled: false. This means that Glean.setUploadEnabled is being called with a false argument, disabling glean.

Device information

  • Android device: Google Pixel 3 (Android 9)
  • Fenix version: 1.0.1915 (Build 10981206)
