I have installed the Google Play version today, but totally failed to use it more than a few seconds, because it always crash (on a Samsung S3 mini and an LG E460).

I sent the crash reports via android. It contains a lot of information, here are a few of them:

Nom de la classe d'exception
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError

Fichier source
StumblerBundle.java

Methode source
toMLSGeosubmit

Numéro de la ligne
129

The crash is easily reproducible, don't hesitate to ask for more details.

The MozStumbler PlayStore version is outdated and is crashing on all devices running Android < 4.2, see #1793.
cc @hannosch, @crankycoder or whoever is still maintaining this project.

OK, thanks for the feedback.

Hope the playstore will soon be updated.

We'll have to wait until crankycoder has some time to look into this, probably another week or two until he isn't completely swamped with his current project. The last time I did Java development was around Java 1.2 - so I'm not much help here ;)

Just to be clear, the issue has been fixed in MozStumbler 1.8.6, which has already been released on F-Droid. But Play Store is still at 1.8.5.

So the question is : why is it so long to update the playstore?
