The sync feature is very welcome, but the implementation is even worse than Microsoft Office Online co-operation.

  • Items you just deleted gets readded multiple times over.

I've deleted items from the Multi Account Containers across all my three machines, yet containers that are deleted suddenly pops up again.

@dannycolin Please fix sync, I can't remove google and everytime I open google it asks me if I want to open it in a tab or not, the do not ask me again button does nothing. I remove it and it is synced again. This has been going on for months. Please help.

Hi @kelvinhammond,

Please avoid @ someone directly without a prior interaction with them. This is not going to fix this issue any faster especially that I'm an unpaid volunteer on this project.

If you need help on how to remove data stuck due to this sync issue, it is best to ask on our officially support platform how to remove addon sync data. You can also ask on our chat platform.

@vdurante I've had luck recently with deleting and recreating a troublesome container. Not ideal, but it worked. I think I turned sync off first in the extension settings.

This is particularly troublesome with the Temporary Containers, which creates and deletes containers; the result is that the list of containers grows indefinitely.

Does anybody know a workaround to perform a cleanup?

I don't know what happens if I backup the addon settings, then disable the addon sync, restore it, and restore the settings. Last time I've tried something similar, I lost all the containers and sites list, which was time-consuming to manually restore.

EDIT: For reference, I'm a programmer, so it's relatively easy for me to perform a search/replace on containers.json; the problem is that MAC syncing brings the containers back. I can disable MAC syncing, but that's undesirable. I can also disable the addon, which will clear all the remote data, but I don't know if there is any simple way to restore its previous settings.

I'm also reaching a boiler point with my annoyance that temporary containers get sync. It would be nice to have an option to disable syncing of temporary containers.
