This is very much like WebUSB in both capabilities and threat model.
Limiting the set of devices to those that identify as HID doesn't change
that. It allows for more narrow targeting of devices and changes the
protocol, but as capabilities are still generic, the outcome is equally
unknowable.

For reference, WebUSB position's PR is #193 .

Apologies for the personal note but, I hope some day we might be willing to consider growing the web. It asks a lot, but I'd love if it these positions included some idea for how or what compromises might shift Mozilla's position. These denials feel total.
