Might be interesting for students or anyone else in this situation ?

Idea came from a young man in Kenya, Moz Volunteer, and also salsa teacher. They have a group for the salsa, and he wants to create an app to share latest news and also salsa parties.
I asked why not simply use facebook groups or page? he answered :

• Because of branding, its not customizable
• because he would not be sure people see the info, its not well organised
• he would prefer to send group sms or push notifications
  => today he is manually sending sms to everyone (>25 persons) manually, case by case (I dont know why he doesnt create group whatsapp conversation ? )

This template could be good since it answers small group + personal needs. But need to find differentiators from Facebook and Whatsapp because not so obvious right now.
