I guess this sort of thing could be included in the discussion about the different licenses that open-data can be stored with which determines what would happen in this case?

Also relevant to who ultimately "owns" the data: i.e. is it the researcher, PI, university, funding body or another private body.

I like the idea re: associating with the different licenses! I'll look at what we've written about that.

Good point about IP too
