Modifying/Disabling Vanilla Tags

Can the already existing/base tags be edited? If so, can that be enabled for users?

The default tags are hard-coded in and translated into a variety of languages so it's not possible to modify them without some invasive development. My suggestion would be to recreate the tag as a custom tag and edit it to how you'd want it. The other part is potentially disabling the default tags so that you could then fall back on the custom one. I'll put some more thought into this.
