$ mpv --no-config --hwdec=vaapi --vo=opengl
shows a solid black screen when linking to vaapi/intel-driver 1.3 and
greater (including git master of both). There are no problems however with
vaapi/intel-driver 1.2.2.

On the other hand,
$ mpv --no-config --hwdec=vaapi --vo=vaapi
works fine with 1.3, so it seems to be some issue with opengl interop.

This problem is only exhibited on an Ivybridge machine. A comparably
configured Sandybridge machine decodes as expected with the first command
in all cases.

real libva bug

apparently, libva does have a bugtracker, but it isn't listed anywhere on their page.

Thanks for the link, this is reproducible for me as well under the same conditions.

According to the libva bug, this is fixed in xserver-xorg-core=1.15.1, which I can confirm. Apparently libva itself has also introduced a fix for older xserver versions.
