Hi @MrS0m30n3 glad to see there's progress on the refactoring. This is just to let you know that you can use github Releases, and attach the windows binary to the github releases. This would be more comfortable than keeping the cooglecode project around, and hosting the releases on google drive..

I'd also be more comfortable downloading from github when I'm on a windows machine.

Let me know if I can be of any help.

Hi, i didn't knew i could attach binary files on github releases thanks. I was also thinking about removing the googlecode page and move the setup files and all the packages for linux on gh-pages so users can download the files directly from http://mrs0m30n3.github.io/youtube-dl-gui/
(I also want to update the site)

Ok, for a reminder it is discouraged to push binary files to gh-pages (git does not track binary files properly, the repository can grow huge after a few updates).

But you could attach the windows zip to a release (example: the .XPIs at https://github.com/RequestPolicyContinued/requestpolicy/releases), copy the zip URL, and link to it directly on the site. For other packages, I think it's best to keep them in their distribution repos (Arch's AUR, the PPA or Debian repos for the .deb) and link to them.

I intend to package youtube-dl-gui for Debian (#21) when you think you're done with the refactoring and it's tested/stable.

Ok, i will leave this issue open as a reminder. I will make a release on the next version (0.3.7). I am almost done with the refactoring i just want to make some changes and update the documentation on each module.

I suggest you to package youtube-dl-gui on version 0.3.7 and not before.

Now you can find the Windows binaries under https://github.com/MrS0m30n3/youtube-dl-gui/releases
as you suggested.

From now on the google code project is not longer maintained but i wont drop the project because the google code will shutdown anyway.
