git : two-way validation when on prevents user from pulling or pushing to local repo generates erroneous error

Reproduced on : Git 1.9.5 with Bash and Windows 7
Workaround : User turns off two-way validation and it works fine
User Impact : Prevents user with two-way validation on from pushing new data to master on repo
